At certain times we all come to a sticking point in navigating the challenge of living. Psychotherapy offers a unique and respectful relationship in which to reflect, challenge ourselves and find a different and meaningful way forward.

Who does Individual therapy suit?

Psychotherapy enables people to make sense of their problems in the hope that they can make decisions about what they want to do to bring about change in their lives. It provides a means of support and a space where you can feel valued and heard. Therapy is not simply about listening and repeating, it is about sharing, exploring and challenging. This is a different and radical type of relationship in which you can put problems into context, challenge your way of thinking, and to find your own way forward.

Informed by a variety of psychotherapeutic means rooted in training, research and experience, I offer long-term and short-term individual psychotherapy. The therapy is at its core individual: informed by integrative theories and existential philosophies to provide a respectful and exploratory space, going beyond a one-size-fits-all approach to effect real understanding and change. I am passionate about offering each client the unique and empowering opportunity to explore the way in which they are living, in order to engage with the way they choose to live within their life situation. Together we can increase understanding, allow emotional healing and assist recovery - we can slow things down and take stock, allowing for new choices and opportunities to emerge.

Depending on what is right for each client at any given moment, therapy might involve talking something through, using creative means, focusing on connecting with our embodied awareness, or working with meditation or Mindfulness. At the core of my work is the connection between myself and the clients, and an honest and trustworthy commitment to being with you in our sessions.

Private individual therapy offers you the chance to explore all aspects of life from personal development to difficult health conditions or situations, unique to each individual, at a pace and for a length of time that suits you.

As an experienced psychotherapist I have seen a wide range of different people, and although this list is not exhaustive, above are some of the issues you might bring to therapy

My Approach

Informed by a variety of psychotherapeutic means rooted in training, research and experience, I offer a respectful and confidential space to explore all aspects of life from personal development to difficult health conditions or situations, unique to each individual. Together we can increase understanding, allow emotional healing and assist recovery - we can slow things down and take stock, allowing for new choices and opportunities to emerge.

My approach to therapy is positive and practical: I believe that psychotherapy enables people to make sense of their problems in the hope that they can make decisions about what they want to do to bring about change in their lives. It provides a means of support and a space where you can feel valued and heard. This is not a time when you are going to be told what to do or what to believe. Therapy is about sharing, exploring and challenging. My job is to help you put problems into context, to challenge your way of thinking, to empathise with the way you feel.

Depending on what is right for each client at any given moment, therapy might involve talking something through, using creative means, working with meditation, Mindfulness or Focusing, or simply offering a safe space to be heard. At the core of my work is the connection between myself and the clients, and an honest and trustworthy commitment to being with you in our sessions.
