FAQ

To help you navigate on the journey to therapy, I have included some of my most commonly asked questions below.

Do I really need therapy?

We have all experienced moments of stress, anxiety, and despair at times in our lives. Sometimes we have a sufficient support network around us to deal with our experiences. However we do not have to deal with the challenge of living alone. Nor do we have to stay stuck with things as they are. Seeking professional therapy is a powerful and courageous step to take towards change.

What is therapy like?

Therapy is a very personal process and should be entirely individual for you to be facilitated to find your own path towards living life in a more fulfilling way. It may well be challenging at times but only in a supportive and respectful way, and in order to bring about relief, inspiration and personal insight.

Does it really work?

Whether we look scientifically or experientially, we are born into and live in a shared world. From the minute of birth, we are sensing out the world around us, learning about ourselves from the responses and reactions we give and receive. Research shows that the strongest indicator of successful therapy is the relationship with the therapist, so finding the right ‘feel’ or ‘fit’ with a therapist is crucial. Therapy offers a different kind of relationship than the everyday; of open dialogue, of respect, challenge and support. From that foundation everything is open for inquiry, and change is truly possible, both inside and outside the therapy room.

How often will I have sessions?

The frequency of sessions depends upon the individual but most often starts on a weekly basis and may become less frequent as you progress and as fits your process and schedule. Sessions are 50 minutes and are either online, or at my therapy studio a short distance from the centre of Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.

How long will I be in therapy for?

I offer both short and long-term therapy, depending on each client’s individual goals, requirements, and process. This is discussed at the initial session and is part of the work towards your aspirations.

How do I book my first session?

Contact me by either, telephone or using the online enquiry form. We will then arrange to have an initial session online, with the option of face-to-face sessions in Beaconsfield from thereon. The first few sessions are an opportunity for us to explore whether we are the right fit and how the therapy might work. If relevant I can always support you onwards elsewhere. Once registered clients can book, change and cancel appointments, and see/pay invoices using the online client portal.

What does it cost?

Individual therapy sessions are charged hourly at £90. See the Fees page on each service for further details.
